It’s another step forward with Noah's Ark – it is now pinned up and awaiting its turn to be quilted. I went to a sewing day on Saturday and used one of the handy tables for this job. It sure beats crawling on my hands and knees on the floor at home. Jude shared some of her batting off cuts with me, so one long piece was cut in half and Frankinbatted with my sewing machine. And low and behold, just the right size. The navy gingham for the backing was donated from my neighbour Dorothy’s stash when she moved into a resthome. The three layers were smoothed and pinned, and is all ready for the next step……..sometime soon I hope.

With that job out of the way I settled down to work on my new stitchery project. I’m starting a set of New Zealand themed Christmas designs from MillyMac Supplies. This one is a kiwi bird camping with his iconic VW Kombi van.

Although these stitcheries are Christmas themed, I'm certainly not aiming to get them all completed for Christmas this year. Maybe next year instead?

Noah's ark quilt is looking great!
It’s so much easier to pin baste on a table rather than the floor! I love your new embroidery project. It’s a perfect take along project for waiting rooms and caravan adventures!
Good for you, following what entertains you! I'm still felting, but cannot show them as they are presents for my girls.

I did one more row along the "cloud line" at the top of my Autumn Stars last night, so will be resting my hands for a couple days after that...[Mr. Arthur-itis is such a pain!!]
Anyway, rainy here with grey skies today and dropping temps--we may get a freeze tonight they say...at least the Northern part of our State will for sure with this cold, cold front moving in now....
It is "raining" leaves here, too...everything is a gorgeous "golden" color--would love fabric like that--so pretty...just imagine a sweater or shawl knitted in that color--ooohhh that would be so nice....

It's such a relief when a project gets layered up like that and I can't go down to the floor anymore either. Wish I had one of those very long tables I see some quilters have but my sewing room is far too small to hold it. Sigh Oh, I am very interested in your embroidery project. Yes, take your time and enjoy the process as I am determined to do these days.

Yes for getting to use a table for basting! I am SO fortunate to have a large table in my sewing room, so I don't have to be on the floor (unless the quilt is about 100" X 100"). Glad you could use one for your purposes. And I love being able to really use-up a hunk of batting that can be cut and resewn to be the size needed. Win and win for you!
I have just had a lovely back read of your posts for the last month; it's nice to see what you have been up to, with the finished Noah top and its stripey border; Whatnots at your place, the quilt show and so on. And I see as well as your wedding anniversary there has been a birthday for you recently - best wishes! Oh yes, I have stitched the Millymac Christmas stitcheries (this year/last year??!) - very cute but I haven't decided how to put them together yet..surely there's enough time before Christmas for me to do that!
