Horse Quilt back home

The “Great All Breeds Horse Show” quilt has now been commercially quilted and is looking great!  I collected it from Paula’s quilt studio, Rabbits Patch Quilting on Monday and I am thrilled with what she had done.

My idea was to machine the binding stitched on, then sit and hand stitch the other side down over the next few days while we are away in the caravan.  But the binding hasn’t been attached yet, there has been too much happening with first the huge earthquake, and then flooding.  To be quite truthful I’m feeling a bit “rattled” myself and don’t feel like sitting at the machine just now.   But I’ll be doing the binding shortly when things are back to normal.

The quilt is awesome, Jenny. You have good reason to feel 'rattled'. Hugs

Beautiful quilting for a lucky girl! Our thoughts have been with those affected by the earthquake, don't blame you for feeling rattled. We couldn't believe the damage around Kiakoura as we loved travelling that road then standing on the beach with the snow so close! Sewing binding is a relaxing finish. Take care xxx

Lovely quilting on your quilt. I can understand why you would feel unsettled. Blessings, Gretchen villacrestfarm@gmail.com

We have big winds now, and some heavy squally showers. No big shaking, but do feel the occasional shudder. I am so thankful we live where we do, and cannot imagine what the southern folks are thinking as they face massive clean ups and insurance claims. Hope you are OK after that flooding. Wow, the horse quilt, if every block is like that one, this is a WINNER.

Jenny your quilt looks beautiful, looking forward to seeing the whole quilt finished. Glad you are safe, I survived the Whakatane earth quake so know how you feel. Cheers Glenda

Thank you all for your kind comments. I am really pleased with the quilting on Emma's horse quilt - and will get on with that binding very shortly. We are away in the caravan for a looong weekend - once again. Nice and restful!

So happy to hear you are okay, Jenny. Scary stuff. But on a lighter note, what a stunning quilt with all those beautiful quilt lines for Emma.

She has done a wonderful job on the quilting. I love the way the horse heads have been framed. I'm sure you will get the binding on all in good time, when you are more in the mood.

The quilting has finished off your quilt beautifully. Your GD will be delighted! Are you feeling many aftershocks where you are? Hope you have a restful weekend away!
