I’ve been working on a couple of more Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects this week. First up was the four patch blocks, a project started part way through last year, and carried over to 2022. I stitched two of the bigger blocks in a mixture of dark and light greens, and one more framed block in sagey green. Need a count up, and I’m hoping I now have enough of the larger blocks to make a child’s quilt.

Then I worked on my string pieced blocks, these are always quite satisfying to make, using up small strips and scraps hanging about. I made a large 12in block in dark greens, and two 9in blocks, one dark green and one in lighter green strips.

I have been doing some other stitching this week, but nothing ready to show just yet. And I’ve still got to make some green tartan scotty dog blocks as well, another RSC project. So far I’ve traced out the pattern on the visoflix, ready to start cutting, fusing and machine applique. Next year, I’ve decided, not to have too many RSC projects each month, but I’m sure I told myself that at the beginning of this year! As always, I really enjoy seeing what everyone else is stitching.

Loving both your 4-patch pattern blocks and those string blocks...I had to stop joining RSC as i had too many projects to keep up with on the go at one time...it was making me have "agita"/
Hugs, julierose
I also love using up my scraps, but alas, there are always more! Those blocks will make a great child’s quilt
I am saying the same thing - not so many RSC blocks I am making too many - I had too many patterns in mind to use up rainbow colors but will need to slow down a little, I can keep up in the fall/winter but then get too busy in the warmer weather
Oh it’s so good seeing your photos again
I’m hoping to do the same with my RSC projects next year. But I’m easily distracted and attracted to a “new” idea! String blocks are always great. Now that I’ve started staying in a specific colors I like them better than multi colored! Lots of pretty greens, you have!
I always enjoy making the RSC blocks and like you make them into kids quilts.
great work on your green RSC2022 projects!
I Love String blocks nas made also 2 this week. Your blocks look great. This year I am this fighting myself not to put new projects on my plate.
I always try not to have too many projects going, but they seem to snowball! Carrying one over to next year is always an option if it is too much.
Your RSC blocks are lovely, you're going to have some very pretty quilt tops this year.
Love those string blocks, always a favorite of mine.
I'm doing a big catch up today. It's good to see that in amongst all your travels you have managed to join in with the Sew Wots as well as do some RSC stitching, embroidery and work on the socks.
I just love string blocks and what a great use of scraps, Jenny.
