I’m running a little late with my blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, the colour chosen by Angela of Sew Scrappy for October was black or dark brown. But I didn’t really want to use those colours in my RSC blocks, so went went with a variety instead. I’ve stitched four more Asterisk blocks and used as my backgrounds, cream, purple, dark real, and a greeny brown.
Four more Asterisk blocks stitched
So far, I've stitched 22 blocks, and need another 3, I’ve decided, then I can assemble them 5 x 5. Not sure if I’ll do a border or not, I’ll have to see what the top looks like when the blocks are together.
I've also been stitching rainbow Bow Tie blocks each month as well. But I’ll have to call it quits on this project, as I’ve run out of the background fabric. I have enough blocks to make up into a baby quilt, I think.
It’s been fun working along on the Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks each month, and I’m looking forward to getting my two tops assembled, then hopefully quilted, before too long. And I’ve already been thinking what blocks to stitch next year when the RSC starts again!

A great use of the selvedge. On lots of fabrics the selvedge is really pretty and such a shame to waste. Looking forward to seeing your finished quilts.
Your Asterisk blocks look great.
will be nice to see both lots of blocks sewn together..
I think I will join in the RSC next year....
I think I'll do cobblestones ?????
those blocks look good!
Your asterisk blocks are lovely colors--we have finally gotten our power back from Thursday night's storms...hoping to get some sewing done this weekend...hugs, Julierose
Very fun use of selvages!
I have a lot of selvages (mostly donated ones) that don't have any accompanying color with them. They'd be perfect for an asterisk block. So thanks for that idea!
Those are fun blocks - a great way to use up selvages!
They look great! RSC is such good fun and so good for using up all those pieces that sometimes get overlooked xx
Great way to use selvages! I love your Asterisk blocks
How beautiful. Love your Asterisk blocks. I'm looking forward to next year's projects too.
Lovely blocks, it will be nice to see all your blocks come together into the two quilts.
Smart move to change your colours for the challenge. No point in making them if they don't work for you. Well done getting them finished.
It's fun to finally see all our blocks together. I can't wait to see yours finished. I wonder what you come up with for next year. I still have to work out what I want to do.
