More RSC Stitching

I’m having a break from working on my Rainbow Scrap Challenge project, that pesky boat quilt which needs to be beaten into submission.  So I’ve dug deep into my big bag of batiks (yet another RSC project) and I’ve been stitching more Cobblestone blocks. I don’t have all the colours of the rainbow in these batiks, just shades of purple, aqua, green, blue, pink and cream, so I do hope the blocks all go together nicely.

More blocks made

What I really need to do is lay all the blocks out on the bed and see how many more I need to make.  I may be surprised, there could be enough, or then again, maybe I need to cut and stitch a whole lot more.  Luckily I’ve still got plenty of fabric left in the bag.

Mending has also been attended to, and I often wonder why on earth I put this chore off.  Usually, it takes such a short time that I could have finished it weeks ago.  Another job I’ve done is make the binding for the afore mentioned boat donation quilt – I usually prepare the binding when I get the backing done, but I’ve been a little slow this time.  But it’s all ready to apply when the quilt is finally quilted, whenever that may be.

Today it’s pouring with rain,  typical Spring weather here when Mother Nature really cant make up her mind what to do. Some days lately have been nice and warm, some have been rather windy, and others like today, pouring with rain.  Which makes it a perfect day to stay home and stitch, doesn't it.

Very pretty batik cobblestones you've shown here...they look like a fun project, Jenny.
I seem to stall out when it's time to make bindings--I have my "Night Flight" (flying geese quilt) all done except for binding...sigh...I am hoping that i will be able to sew it on the machine soon. I am trying to be patient here with this sciatica...it keeps on nagging me though!!
Weather is getting colder here now--39 degrees (F) this morning..
Hope you are doing well, hugs, Julierose

Those Boats and friends are very annoying… hope they behave soon.
Be good if you have enough batik cobblestone blocks now to sew together.
Yes funny weather here too but hopefully we finally get warmer days from now on.

A shower outside sounds like the perfect excuse to stay in and finish up those cobblestone blocks. So many pretty colors. Looking forward to seeing them come together.

I think your batik blocks will make a lovely quilt, Jenny. No matter if some of the colors of the rainbow are missing!

Oh Jenny, if you were close I would give you all the colors you have been missing. Dang the distance between us. On the upside, these cobblestone blocks are lovely and they will be gorgeous together, regardless of what colors you choose. happy sewing.

I love batiks, and your cobblestones really show them off. Here's one thing I know: when you're tired of making blocks, you have enough for a quilt! Some unpieced squares as alternate blocks might make it bigger if that's what you want.
