Purple for RSC

Purple is the chosen colour this month for all of those who like to stitch along with Angela in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  I machine appliqued three little purple birds – just about all I could manage sitting at the sewing machine as my back was feeling  little sore by the time I had completed them.  It was much easier on my back to finish the birdies off, sitting in my Lazy Boy chair while I hand stitched their little stick thin legs on.  So here they are, with their little red friends.  I’d stitched the red ones last month but hadn't blogged about them.

Purple and red birds

Gemma has decided to try my loan walker out for size, and jumped up on the seat.  Yes, it fits her quite well, she decided.  Mind you, she is not to keen when it trundles towards her while she is stretched out on the carpet.

It’s just about my size, she thinks

We went down to the Health Centre today for our first Covid jab, joining a steady stream of over 65s.  No trouble at all, it was done very efficiently, and we hardly felt a thing.  Like all vaccinations, we had to sit and wait a while to make sure there were no side effects.  Our second dose will be in three weeks time.

I always love seeing your little birds! Cats love sitting on top of just about anything, don't they?! Funny Gemma! So glad to hear you got your first vaccine dose.

It’s wonderful that you’re able to sew a bit so soon after surgery: the birds are adorable. Hooray for your first vaccine jab!

I adore your Give Thanks cushion, Jenny. So appropriate for our lives despite the ups and downs. Happy to hear you got your shot; I get #2 next week and I can't wait to have it over with. You sound like you are feeling better so I'm thankful for that. Your blog is an important part of my blogging life. Oh and these chickens/birds are very cute.

Your purple birds are adorable, and so are the red ones! Sorry about your back though, I have trouble with mine now and again too. Congrats on getting vaccinated.

So good to know you can sit for a wee while, the lazy Boy would be so comfy. Here, there is one Covid centre, and a friend tried to get a time slot and was told it was all booked out. I will have to wait a few weeks after my flu shot this Thursday, and, all going well, cataract t surgery finally on 24th. Walkers, they are so handy, not only for balance and support, but to tote anything around. Gemma, you fit there so well.

glad you got your first jab! and 3 weeks wait is better than some places I think one in Brazil has to wait 3 months as such a shortage! it will take awhile to get used to sitting long at the machine I imagine - wishing you well!

Good on you for getting the birds done. Of course Gemma had to try out the walker. Does she go for a ride on it? I’m glad to hear your jabs went well. We get ours next week with the second one not for 12 weeks after that.

So sorry to hear you've got back troubles. Anything you can pinpoint as to the cause? Sometimes it takes nothing though I hear. Your little birdies are sweet, stick legs and all!

It sounds as though things are progressing nicely for you, Jenny! Good thing you have Gemma (and Robin too, of course!) to “help”. Your birds are so cute, as usual. And congrats on getting your first vaccination!
