Nearly there with the Christmas Blocks

I’m so pleased that I’ve managed to complete another of my Christmas ABC stitchery blocks while we have been away on our caravan trip.  Please excuse the rather scruffy appearance – but I don’t do ironing in the caravan.  Here is my (needs to be pressed) “Snowman in a Christmas Mitten”, just off the small embroidery hoop.  This is yet another cutie designed by Michelle Ridgeway so it will fit in very well with my ABC blocks.

I haven't been making great progress with my knitting, but I believe that every row gets me closer to the finish line.  This is the collar for my cozy winter cardigan, almost up to the shaping rows on this.

We are spending the weekend away at Himatangi Beach Holiday Park (Motor Camp) and took a little drive along the beach today.  There was driftwood everywhere so we had to be careful where we went.  Tiny wavelets rushed to shore, beach bikes were driving up and down, some people were walking their dogs, while others, like us, were happy to sit for a while.

A lot warmer than the inland stop-over. Love the sound of those waves, so soothing. Blocks are coming on so well, it's always a good chance to have hand-work or knitting when away.

I'm landlocked, but I do love watching the ocean when I have the opportunity. I finding it calming.

I think your amount of stitching/knitting reflects the nice, slow pace of life that going on a trip like this should give you.
It might not look like you are making progress with the knitting but then, suddenly, it all comes together and you can be satisfied with the gently, gently process.
Enjoy the rest of your travels.

Snowman in Mitten is so cute, Jenny. These really are fun to stitch. I like your attitude of each row takes you closer to the finish and I now think that with my sometimes brief bouts of stitching. Knitting yourself a cardigan is something I admire!

What a lovely location. I really like your snowman - Michelle's designs are always wonderful, and you did a terrific job on it. Knitting - I know nothing except it's all Greek to me. =)
