Shades of Teal

This month it is shades of teal for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge stitching, teal, turquoise and aqua. Not a colour I have a lot of, but I managed to find enough to get my blocks done.  Hollow Nines were stitched first.  I'm only using the 2.5in squares tucked away in my bag, and found enough to make two blocks.  I'm sure I've mentioned before that I don't really like working with little squares, and it will be interesting to see how many squares remain at the end of the year.

Two Hollow Nine blocks

I could only find two 5in squares for Happy Blocks.  One turquoise one with some rather strange looking girls, and the other was wiggly stripes.  Then there were three of my previously stitched four patch blocks which fit the bill, containng flowers, swirling sea, bicycle parts and teddies.

Just a couple of Happy Blocks and Framed Four Patches

My missing Pirate blocks have been tracked down, after hiding away, and I'll get to them later.  At least I now know where they are, after those cheeky pirates were missing in action.

Gemma has decided that snoozing on our bed during the day is a good way to pass some time.  Otherwise she likes to curl up in front of the large windows where the sun comes streaming in.  Cats certainly have the best life, don't they.  This quilt is Soul Searching, designed by Kathy Doughty.

Gemma is very comfy, thank you.

Gemma does look very comfortable there looking like it is her bed. Glad you dug up some teal scraps to use, they look great in your blocks and best of all, they used up some of those small squares!

What a hoot that camping trailer is! I can imagine you going through fabric in a quilt store, spotting this, and immediately bringing it to the cutting table.

Gemma definitely does look very comfortable on that pretty quilt! I think those girls in your scrap square have the very modern and popular hair color of pink - I'm still surprised when I see it around here, but we see it quite a lot. Your hollow 9s look great - I stitched one last night, too!

Nice scrappy blocks! It is absolutely amazing how many different fabric prints there are. I love your teddies, and those weird girls are a hoot!

Your Gemma is so pretty! She knows a comfy spot when she finds one! At least you found some aqua/teal to sew. My week was a bust in that department. Oh well! Hopefully this coming week will be more productive!

Gemma seems to have the same idea as Darla and Alfie - sleeping on Mom and Dad’s bed. We have a fan overhead going 24/7 in the summer, so that is especially helpful in cooling tummy furs! Lovely Hollow Nine blocks, Jenny. I haven’t done those in years, and my 2.5” squares are building up…

I hear you about tucking things away.
I saw a fat quarter of rainbow colours for quilting. It was $100 so I passed on it. I'll have to think about whether it would be worth investing in it for a project.

Gemma looks like she is enjoying the cool and the quiet. Love the quilt she is lying on. Great work on those quilt blocks.

God bless.

I love the cute little camper in one of your teal squares! There must be a lot of squares in your scrap bag with all of the blocks you have made. Gemma thinks she is the queen of the household.

So love those New Zealand fabrics in your last post, Jenny. Real beauties. Also enjoyed seeing these blocks and beautiful quilt. Gemma certainly has a heightened sense of pure comfort. She also poses beautifully for the camera. A star!
