I'm pleased I have a sock finish, this pair seems to have taken ages. But only because I don't work on them all the time, I tend to flick from one project to another. These are for my daughter, I asked if she would like another pair for Christmas. "Yes please" she said, "I'd like pale blue this time". So they are done well ahead of time, which is good.
Socks for my daughter
I knit my socks flat, two at a time then sew up the side seam. You can't feel the seam and it doesn't go under the sole, but up the side. None of those tiny double pointed needles for me! This pair was made using Tootsies 4ply Merino sock yarn.
But wait, there's more, I'm working on two more pair as well, both up to different stages. These are thick 12ply socks, using double knit together with left over sock yarn, and will be for me. The heels are done on the dark pair, and the pale ones have more growing to do to reach the heel stage. I prefer wearing these thicker socks, especially in the winter.
Two more pair on the go
Our winter weather has been very changeable, cool but sunny some days, and heavy rain on other days. There was a sprinkling of snow on the hills last week, which always looks pretty in the sunshine, but I'm pleased we don't live in an area with snow on the ground.

I love making homemade soup in the cold weather too. We are into salad season now here. Your socks always look warm and cozy.
It is perfect weather for sock knitting. The snow on the hills is rather picturesque, but means soup is ideal. Yum.
Well done, knitting, cooking, crafting!
That scene is beautiful! We are chilly today, but I hope it'll warm up.
a pot of French Onion soup sounds good! Your socks are always pretty
I always like to keep batches of soup frozen for those colder days. I usually make big batches of Chicken soup. My husband would love the French Onion soup. I always like seeing the socks that you make. Of course I still haven't made a pair myself. Someday.
Your socks always look so comfy and cozy! Pretty colors, too. Soup in the crockpot is my favorite meal. That's a beautiful view of the mountains, too!
You always have such lovely colours in your socks. I usually make a big batch of soup and then freeze containers for use later.
God bless.
it's too hot here for soup - but that does look tasty! since our food inspection here has been defunded and alerts are no longer issued for known food pathogens, Melissa planted lettuce and spinach and squash - no fresh veggies for us till harvest - sigh ... anywho, your socks look so cozy - well done!
Those socks are going to be so welcome in this cold weather.
And nothing beats delicious soup! Yum.
I'm smiling that you "tend to flick from one project to another." Just yesterday I counted... my hands worked on four different projects in one day! :-) I think it's okay, if that's how we keep our crafting interesting. That mountain view is just gorgeous! Snowcapped is so lovely. I envy you your bit of cold, as here in Central Florida, it's been 32C and more every day for several weeks. If it's already this hot in June, what will it be like in July? Definitely not hot soup weather. Yours in the crockpot looks delicious!
Everything looks so good! Thank you for sharing the love.
In the winter, I love making soups, too. Put them in the crock pot and dinner is done with lots of leftovers. Your onion soup looks wonderful. Just wish I could share it with you and have a nice chat. I am jealous of your sock making. I just won't try it.
Beautiful photo of the snow on the mountain.
Nice cosy socks for your daughter .
Lovely to enjoy some warm soup on cold days.
