Though, I would also recommend "A Voice in the Wind," by Francine Rivers.FlourishingPalmshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13191140553844000267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591608932391275570.post-18077610400113429982013-01-14T07:59:59.918+13:002013-01-14T07:59:59.918+13:00I am with you all the way Jenny and if ever there ...I am with you all the way Jenny and if ever there was miscasting then this is it. I am sure Tom Cruise will do a sterling job but if you have read the books then no way does he fit the bill. I am a big fan too if you haven't already guessed. I am currently reading The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton and gripped by it.Shirleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03525435687338202458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591608932391275570.post-91595840228233440472013-01-13T23:06:00.342+13:002013-01-13T23:06:00.342+13:00Wow you have read a lot of book. However recently I've been reading Louise Penny again - I read her first three a few years ago and caught up with the rest. Intense but wonderful.<br />MrsC (Maryanne)https://www.blogger.com/profile/14440723067459232998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591608932391275570.post-83211697761914366852013-01-13T13:52:40.371+13:002013-01-13T13:52:40.371+13:00I love Jack too and have read all the books. There is also another book from when he is still in the army and he meets up with his brother in Paris after their Mother dies, but I can't remember which one that was!Leeannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17148008932005586200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591608932391275570.post-74875779751254856312013-01-13T13:06:55.721+13:002013-01-13T13:06:55.721+13:00I love reading too Jenny, my favourite over the la...I love reading too Jenny, my favourite over the last twelve months has to be Yann Martel's "Life of Pi". I tried Jack, read and enjoyed one but then found the second to be too full of blokey detail - exact measurements when he's setting up an ambush etc. which didn't do it for me. I've read that several people have seen the film who thought the same as you, but found they were pleasantly surprised. I have a book diary from 1972 when I joined the Doubleday Book club and started buying books instead of just getting them from the library - which is why I have six bookcases!Junehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09372131422861581454noreply@blogger.com
