This is the life

I haven’t been required at work all week, so “I’m practising being retired”, as I told the consultant when she phones each day to let me know about the work situation. “You should be practising your baking”, she replied, “so you can bring a nice big cake in on your last day”. That’s right, less than two weeks to go till I’m really retired. Things are really quiet at my workplace at the moment, so I wonder if I will make it back to work before I finish up! This afternoon, I’m sitting out on the back deck in the lovely sunshine, stitching the yards and yards of binding down on my daughter’s quilt. The sun is warm, with just a tiny gentle breeze, and the birds are singing. If I get too hot, I’ll just move the seat into the shade. This is the life, I could get used to this!

Ooo. It sounds lovely for you. I've gotten used to retirement with NO PROBLEM. It's wonderful. Keep enjoying yourself.

I get a lot of pleasure stitching the binding on a quilt - I feel it is like saying "good bye" to the quilt before it goes off to a new home. Happy stitching!

Hope we are going to see all of this quilt soon! You are teasing us with little peeks. What I've seen looks great though. :-)
